Tradgedy Strikes!!!

I've not brought my boarding pass. I don't even look for it, because i know upon arriving at JFK that I've left my ticket in Boulder. This isn't the first time this has happened. My trip to Baja with Juan and Tom began with the same blunder, only this one was substantially more devastating. After pleading the ticket people and a hustler of a manager for Royal Air Morocco and making extensive phone calls, the situation is grave. I have three options. The first is returning to Brooklyn and waiting until Monday (it's Friday) to try and sort things out with the airline's main office in Manhattan which is closed for the weekend. Wassya's apartment is tiny and crowded, so this doesn't sound fun. The second option is calling Sabrina and trying to get a lift to Boston. This sounds good if I can convince her, because we can party for a few days while I try and sort things out- but she's not picking up the phone- and the plane is leaving in an hour and a half. Neither 'Cheap Tickets' nor royal Air Morocco is giving any leverage over refunding this ticket, and it's possible that even after staying I might not get my money back. I'm pissed, stressed, and thinking about missing my orientation in Senegal. Which brings me to the third option- buy a new ticket and try to recoup the loss later. After much deliberation and calculation, the decision came to me all at once- “fuck it, I'm going to Morocco”. Another $1500 later I'm on a plane...Extremely embarrassing, but not uncharacteristic of me, I put my tail between my legs and board the flight- at least I have two seats to myself.
There's a two hour delay due to thunderstorms, which I sleep through. As we take off and move above the clouds, I experience one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The clouds have an iridescent salmon underside that melts into black on their tops. Erratic lightning surges in the distance illuminating the clouds. It was like a dark heaven- unbelievable.
